Dena Sisk Foman is a partner and Personal Injury Lawyer at the law firm of McLaughlin & Stern, LLP in West Palm Beach, Florida – a firm with roots dating back to 1898. Backed by a decade of insurance defense experience, Dena is a passionate advocate for clients who have been injured in all types of accidents. Dena’s primary legal focus is auto accidents and other cases involving serious injuries from truck, boat, motorcycle, or slip and fall accidents. Dena also handles wrongful death cases and is known for her special interest and commitment to helping women and children with discrimination and harassment cases.
A steadfast supporter of mental health, women’s issues and education, Dena is an active member of the local community in Palm Beach County. She currently serves on the board of Families First of Palm Beach County and The Palm Beach County Justice Association. She is a member of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Palm Beach County Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, Leadership Palm Beach County class of 2013 and Leadership Florida Class XXXiii in addition to being involved in the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County, Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, and many other important civic organizations.
She wrote a memoir, Only I Can Define Me: Releasing Shame and Growing Into My Adult Self, which discusses the challenges that plague families dealing with mental illness, poverty and lack of resources. The child of addicted parents, Ms. Foman shares her personal story of overcoming adversity and continuing her education after quitting high school in hopes that it will empower others to define their worth and persevere. She now frequently speaks on the importance of education to reach your full potential in life and in the workplace.
After dropping out of high school, Dena received her General Educational Development certificate (GED) and then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her juris doctorate from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is admitted to practice by the Florida Bar, United States Federal Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Dena Sisk Foman is happily married with four sons, Clayton (27), Walter (14), Jackson (11) and Xavier (11).
